Endpoint Studies
#1: Oral administration of seed oil caused tachypnea and decreased motor activity leading to mortality in mice. #2: Croton proteins caused gastrointestinal damage with edema, diarrhea and inflammation leading to mortality in mice.

#1: 1. Seed extract showed mutagenic effects in Ames test in S. typhimurium; 2. Negative results in in vitro chromosomal aberration assay and in vivo micronucleus assay.
