Endpoint Studies
#1: The aqueous extract at 1000 mg/kg bw/day resulted in deaths within 2-3 days. The aqueous extract at 100 mg/kg resulted in hypoactivity and asthenia. Morphological changes in the kidneys were observed at histology. #2: The leaf rinse extract (acetone extraction) at 1000 mg/kg bw/day resulted in deaths within 2-3 days. At 100 mg/kg hypoactivity and asthenia were observed. Histological alterations in the glomeruli, and proximal and distal tubules og the kidneys.
